When I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982, I thought, "This is it, I'm through with school and I won't be returning". Well we never know what the future holds. We just have to trust that the decisions we make are the right ones for us. I saw my baby graduate from Angelo State University this past May and it stirred something in my spirit when she told me, "Mommy, I'm staying in school to get my Master's Degree". That was something I had hoped to do and this felt like the best time. So, my journey begins.
Your journey begins and you are in good company. Congratulations on your daughter's journey. Travel well together!
ReplyDeleteI graduated from college in 1982 as well. Left with a degree in Elementary Education and thought just exactly the same thing you did. I decided at that time that I was tired of school, fed up with the work, and did not want to go into a teaching position because I knew what it would be like to be a first year teacher. When I did go into teaching many, many years later I just knew I was where I was supposed to be.
